2023 South Metro Racial Justice Grant Review Committee
SMRJ Grant Review Committee Application
Thank you for your interest in serving in the SMRJ Grant Review Committee!
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The South Metro Racial Justice and Equity Project (SMRJ) seeks to support small, community-based organizations in the South Metro region by providing operating support grants over two years, and training and infrastructure development in the areas of finance, operations, governance, racial justice, movement building, fundraising, and more.
We want to ensure that community leaders, activists, and organizers living or working in the South Metro region get to inform who gets selected for funding.
Please note that your organization will be ineligible to apply for funding through this opportunity if you serve on the review committee.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR FOLKS WHO:

We are especially interested in having representation from people who are often excluded from decision making tables: youth, BIPOC community members, LGBTQ+ folks, people with disabilities, and folks with lived experience of economic hardship.
- Have experience with grassroots organizing and understanding how racial justice plays into movement building and social change.
- Have experience writing, receiving, or making grants (preferred but not required)
GRANT REVIEW COMMITTEE MEMBERS WILL GET:
- $600 stipend in recognition of their work
- Opportunities to learn about social justice organizing and participatory grantmaking principles
- The power to distribute resources to the social and racial justice movement in the South Metro region
- The chance to meet, get to know, and connect with other activists, groups, and organizations working toward a more racially just South Metro region.
